Hiking safety tips

Hiking is a fun and healthy activity, but it can also be dangerous if you are not prepared. You should always hike at your own risk and responsibility.

Before you go hiking, you should check the weather, pack the essentials (map, water, first aid kit), inform someone of your plans, and follow marked paths. You should also wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the terrain and the temperature. Avoid hiking in extreme heat or cold, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

If you encounter any problems or emergencies, stay calm and seek help. These tips can help you have a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.

In order to act properly in the event of an accident, the first rule is to maintain composure, and to calm the others down. For additional information visit https://www.hgss.hr/en/ and in case of emergency call 112.
